Temperature can be anything, even a decimal number. So, it is a continuous variable and since temperature does not have a true zero, it is an interval level
The name of a college a student attends
Name is not a number. So, it can't be continuous or discrete. It is a categorical value. It can't have any order to measure, so its a nominal scale
