Thus,he meets Samanas ,the ascetic monks who practice severe self denial and joins them and follows them, but still is unable to find the answers. Meanwhile Gotama the Buddha arrives in the neighborhood, Siddhartha and Govinda meet Gautama and Govinda decides to follow Gautama. Siddhartha bids farewell to his friends and crosses the river. Here, he fells for Kamala and begins to live a life indulging in every form of lust for material things. One day he becomes disillusioned of his worldly life and decides to commit suicide. While attempting to suicide listens to the river and is attracted by the serenity and beauty of the river. Siddhartha decides to live by the river side for his rest of life.He enters into friendship with the ferryman and is attached to both the ferryman and the river. Once when Gautama visits a nearby place Kamala with her son were going to see Gautama ,along the way she is bitten by a snake ,but before her death she meets Siddhartha and hands her son to him. Kamala's son never accepted Siddhartha as his father and runs away . This created a constant flux in him, this constant flux enables him to understand the reality of life and thus he attains wisdom and answers to his long searched questions. This makes him peaceful at heart. His fame crossed the land, one day he is visited by his old friend Govinda, who is still searching the answers, though Govinda fails to recognize his friend initially, but hearing him call his name he recognizes him. Upon leaving Siddhartha asks his friend to kiss his forehead, here Govinda sees the reflection of Buddha in his friend Siddhartha. The situations of life had taught Siddhartha to love and have compassion for everything and this has made him to reflect Buddha in him and thus he becomes one with enlightened one The Buddha.
