Vice president Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris sat a dozen feet apart on the 7th of October, for a 90 minute debate.

This debate between Pence and Harris was much calmer than the debate of President Donald Trump and former Vuce President Joe Biden the other week. The Pence - Harris debate was clearer, quieter and in a more disciplined way.

This debate held in Utah with a small and socially distanced audience started from the topic corona virus pandemic and then the conversation were on the topics of climate change, trade, jobs and America's attitude and posture towards China.

Harris said in her very first answer aiming the way Trump's administration handled the covid crisis, "The American people have witnessed the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of the country". Harris questioned about the death of 210,000 people due to the virus in US. Harris slammed the administration for failing to act in the early days of the spread of pandemic. Pence defended to that saying that Biden's administration would not have done any better in such a situation. He said that Trump has always put the health of American people first.

Then the debate shifted to the economic matters which is a strong suit that Trumps polls for, Pence talked about Biden's policy record. Harris argued about the administration's method of trading war with China.

In between the debate, Pence asked for more time. Critics say that Pence shouldn't have been given the extra time or Harris should have been also given extra time to compensate.

Then, in between Page said about a question raised by an eighth grader asking that if these leaders cannot get along then how the people of America are supposed to get along. For this Pence said not to assume that what you see in the news channels is the same with American people.

And to a funny part, a fly landed on the head of Vice President Pence about which lots of memes and jokes were made on social media.
