Question 1
No, I think that the teens shouldn’t be treated like adults when they commit crimes.
Youth Crime in United States has been falling since the last decade. The policy of giving them adult punishment doesn’t make any sense. The procedure is really expensive and can have harsh impacts. Teens after completing their punishment can commit even more serious crimes because they are vulnerable to do so. There can be psychological issues with them. Teens don’t even realize when they commit crimes. They are like children.
Considering these points, even the Supreme Court has introduced a few policy measures which prohibit the adult punishments to be sentenced to the teens. For example, no state can impose life sentence to death to any criminal below 18 years of age. According to the Supreme Court, juveniles system should be improved and upgraded in order to have these crimes stopped. The undeveloped brains of teens can only be developed under juveniles when they commit any crime. However, there should be taught by their parents and should be taken care of until they are fully mature and responsible.
