Carbon Dioxide is being generated in an occupied space. Each person breathe out carbon

dioxide at the rate 0.0107 cfm. Outdoor air with CO2 concentration of 280 ppm is being

supplied to the space at the rate of 6000cfm. It is desired to keep the concentration level of

CO2 in the space below 1000 ppm. Assuming the room is complete mixing condition,

determine how many person could occupy the room and not exceed the desired CO2 level.

(1 ppm = 1 part per million = 1Å~10-6 per unit volume)

In some movies where we see people in space, they sometimes show “gravity” being generated by rotating a cylindrical object at some rotational velocity. (a) Let’s say that this “space wheel” has a diameter of 165 m and a rotational period of 19 seconds. Based on this, what is the apparent gravity for someone walking on the walls? [5 points] (b) What is causing this artificial gravity? Further, we see this being effective for generating gravity in movies, but it...

The news media typically blames carbon dioxide for being responsible for global warming. While CO2 indeed plays a dominant role, why are we also concerned about methane? a. Methane is the second largest contributor to global warming b. Methane is 26 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2 c. Methane concentrations have been increasing in the atmosphere in recent years d. Methane is produced both, naturally and anthropogenically e. All of the above

An equilibrium mixture contains 0.6500.650 mol of each of the products (carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas) and 0.2000.200 mol of each of the reactants (carbon monoxide and water vapor) in a 1.00 L container.
