Based on the book, The Best Place to Work, discuss whether the pay and conditions at Amazon's warehouse help produce an "extraordinary workplace." If not, then why is the treatment of workers important since Amazon is doing so well? please need elaborations from the book meaning relate the answer to the book
Amazon has always boosted about its working conditions and amazing pay scale it provides to the employees. However, that does not seem like a reality as employees have always complained about the poor working conditions and the low pay. This is what has been discussed in the book "the best place to work", where the author talks about the factors which has taken Amazon from an ordinary firm to an extraordinary firm.
Amazon is a firm that deals directly with the customers. Though it is the best firm in its field, and is at the first place, most of its work is done by the employees who handle the orders received, delivery and payment. All of these things are very technical and labor-intensive. In such a scenario, keeping the title of an "extraordinary workplace" seems like a task for Amazon, if it doesn't keep its employees happy. Even though Amazon is doing so well, however, the author of the book has clearly stated that retaining this title is only possible if the employees support the firm, and the working conditions, along with the pay scale are improved.
