Based on the book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, describe what kind of place is Hogwarts, in terms of time period and magical elements.Please explain in atleast two paragraphs.

  • According to  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Hogwarts is the school of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY for 11-18 years old students. It was established around 10th century. Hogwarts is considered to be one of the finest magical institutions in the wizarding world. Hogwarts is a vast castle with many turrets and towers. The castle is located in the mountains near a loch. It has many secret places, such as- third floor, a room with a large troll inside etc. Sometime the roof looks like a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars, that is bewitched.  
  • There are many staircase, which are moving around. It is divided into 4 houses- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. In this book, there are some main elements which are focused more such as, A giant three-headed dog, Devil's Snare, A room containing dozens of keys, charmed by Flitwick to sprout wings and fly near the ceiling, A large chessboard with an army of large chessmen, A room with a large troll inside, and The Mirror of Erised.
