Psychrometry

It is study of relative humidity of atmospheric air. In simple terms Relative humidity is the ratio of how much actual water vapor present in the air to the how much total capacity of water vapor atmospheric air can hold.

EXAMPLES OF USE OF PSYCHROMETRY IN DAILY LIFE

1. DESERT COOLER/ EVAPORATIVE COOLER

Desert Cooler works on principal of psychrometry which is used at many places around the world especially in Asian countries.

2. AIR CONDITIONER

Air-conditioning needs psychrometric charts for analysis and comfort. Air conditioning can be of two types, Summer Air Conditioning and Winter Air Conditioning both use psychrometry.

3. COOLING TOWER

Works on principal of psychrometry. It's used at nearby fossil fuel fired power plants for cooling purposes which is used for electricity generation at my home.

4. METEOROLOGY

Weather departments all over the world heavily rely on psychrometric charts which are used to make weather predictions which impacts human life such as in fields of agriculture, transportation and other applications.

5.REFRIGERATION

Home & Industrial refrigerator are designed based on psychrometry charts and properties to achieve optimum cooling objectives.
