They are having 2,625 supermarket and multi-department stores and have more two dozens of banners like Dillions, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer etc (Kroger, 2014, p. A-7). They have 782 convenience stores and have 326 fine jewelry stores. They are well present in the online retailing.
Retailing is their core business especially food stores, grocery and they focus on satisfying customers using their core values (honesty, integrity, respect, diversity, safety and inclusion) (Kroger, 2014, p. 20). The core competency of the company is their business model that is completely customer oriented and selling high-quality products at lower price.
Business StrategyKroger is focusing on natural and organic food products. They are specialized food store that is providing a greater advantage. Consistency is the major advantage for the company. They are procuring materials from various suppliers. The business strategy of the company is to get satisfied and loyal customers for their brands, and they involve in the process of acquisition to get more brands under them
