what is the difference between absorption and emission? transmission and reflection?
when plotting a graph of A vs B, what does it mean if one says that A is directly proportional to B? what would the graph look like?
what are the four steps of the scientific method?
Absorption: It is the phenomenon in which the atoms or molecules get excited from the lower energetic state to higher energetic state by the application of light energy
Emission: This is the opposite phenomenon of the Absorption, in which the exicited molecules or atoms come down to lower energetic state from higher energetic state
Tranmission: It is the phenomenon in which the part of the light pass through a chemcial entity without effecting it
Reflection: It is the phenomenon in which the incident light gets reverted back as it can neither be abosrbed or trasmitted through
A is proportional B means, A increases when B is also increased in relation
For example, if one pen costs 3 dollars, then 2 pens costs, 6 dollars. Here, the no of pens incresed from 1 to 2 where as price is also increased from 3 to 6 dollars. This relation is called proportionality.
The graph would look like a straight line passing through origin with 45 angle with X-axis and Y-axis
