Dale Carnegie says if you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive in his book how to influnce people? Could you explain what that means and what he is saying in 3-4 paragraphs a good explanation I am writing a book review over it
Carnegie attempts to share the lessons he learned from research as well as from personal experience on criticizing and complaining to change behavior. Carnegie asks people not to criticize, condemn, or complain and realize that the person we are going to correct and condemn will probably justify himself or herself, and condemn us in return. We may not feel that we have done anything wrong and many wrongdoers blame everybody but themselves.
Carnegie suggests that before trying to change someone, we should begin with ourselves as it is less dangerous and more profitable.
Kick over means exactly that, to topple something by giving it a kick. If you do that to a beehive, you won't get the honey you're after, but you will get an angry swarm of bees looking to sting you. So if you want something from people, maybe it's better not to stir up bad feelings. If you do, you won't achieve your aim, but it's likely you'll have angry people ready to attack you.
