Judicial Review: Judicial review is an important and essential part of checks and balances within the federal government in such a way that it provides equal power to the Supreme Court (a judicial branch) with respect to the other two branches of government.
Judicial review is the power of the Supreme Court (Judicial Branch) to ensure that the actions and decision taken by the Legislative Branch (Congress) and Executive Branch (President) are legally under Constitution Or they comply with Constitution rules and laws.
Thus Judicial branch cross checks the appropriateness of the actions taken by legislative and executive branch of the federal government, hence it ensure the checks and balances between the verticals of the federal government.
Supreme Court is part of process to which creates the checks and balances among the Congress and President’s actions for the nation. Thus we can say that judicial review is the part of checks and balances for the system of the federal government.
Legislative Branch and Executive Branch checks and balances the Judicial branch:
The legislative and executive branch can checks and balances the judicial branch by bringing the appropriate reforms/ amendments and new rules under constitution, so that the constitution keeps updating based on the on-going changes in the society and need of time.
The executive branch brings the proposal for changes in the constitution laws and this goes for general discussion in the house of Parliament. When this proposal is passed from the Houses of Parliament and the presidential office, then these amendments/reforms will be updated under Constitution and will be applicable for hence forwards.
Hus this is how the legislative and executive branch checks and balances the judicial branch by bringing appropriate reforms and amendments to the constitution.
