Explain how a nervous signal originates and then is transferred from the stimulus to the receiving cell.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The nervous system is a complex collection of nerves and specialized cells known as neurons. The neuron is the functional unit of the nervous system. All neurons have three parts.Dendrites, aell body and Axon.In axons some axons are wrapped in a myelin sheath formed from the plasme membrane of specialized glial cells known a s schwann cells. The gap between schwann cells is known as the node of Ranvier and serves as points along the neuron for generating a signal. When theses signals reach the end of a neuron, they stimulate the release of chemicals calied neurotransmitters.Neurotransmitters travel acrossthe synapses, spaces between neurons or between neurons and other body tissues and cells.

Explain how should the company account for transferred receivables.
Health Provider (the “company”) offers health-care-related services. To reduce administrative obligations and to allow for additional financing options for its patients, the company enters into a health services financing agreement (the “agreement”) with an unrelated third-party financial institution (the “bank”). Under the agreement, the company’s patients have the option of requesting that the company transfer its receivables to the bank. Once such a request is made, the following would occur: • The company would transfer the patient’s receivables to the...
