Morrissey vs Brewer: It was a United States Supreme Court. It was provided for a hearing to determine the factual basis for parole violations. This hearing is colloquially known as a "Morrissey hearing." The hearing take place with the defendant in or out of custody. If applicable, a victim may be ordered to testify at a hearing. During the hearing, a member of the Parole Hearing Division reviews the evidence of the violation.
Gregg v. The State of Georgia: This case has string impact on the state of georgia. It was in the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that capital punishment was constitutional so long as the procedures involved in its execution did not violate the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution
Atkins v. Virginia: This case marks the historic judgment of the supreme court in which the court prohibits the execution of mentally retarded murderers. It may signal the beginning of the end of the death penalty.
