Please explain 1-5 for me the answers.
If you friend (Brittnay) came up to you and started talking about brad the chess club captain. A few minutes into the conversation, she starts to hyperventilate at the thought of talking to brad and gets dizzy and confused. But in typical, Brittnay fashion she doesn't stop. To help her out of her stupor, you have several options. You have several options that may or may not help, so please explain how each option can either help or hurt her Co2 levels, O2 levels, acid-base status, etc.
and explain each answer as if you are talking to Brittttnaaaaay.
(OMG gurl, you need to breath in this bag)
1. Give her a bag to rebreath in.
2. Give her some acidic soda to drink,
3. give her an O2 mask to breath into.
4. Make her drink Bicarbonate water (HCO3-)
5. hit brad with an ironing board.
1. As she is hyperventilating the oxygen content in her blood is high and leads to respiratory alkylosis. So if she breathe in her bag the exhaled carbon dioxide is rebreathed again. By this O2 level decreases and CO2 level increases band thus PH gets to normal.
2. The acidic soda doesn't change value to a high level but may affect these systems. Drinking acidic soda will reduce the PH of blood as it is elevated now this making more carbon dioxide in the blood by the bicarbonate buffer system and there by oxygen level decreases.
3. Oxygen mask will make more oxygen come to the blood which makes O2 level to increase. Then the CO2 level decreases and the PH increases making blood more alkaline.
4. Bicarbonate water is basic. Drinking it increase the PH of the blood. Already the pH is high so the drink will make the pH increase futher. The CO2 level will decrease and oxygen level increase in blood.
5. As Brittany talks too much about Brad, if you beat Brad with the board it will shock her. So suddenly her breathing stops in excitation. Thus her hypertension is stopped and thus the CO2 level in the blood gets increased. As a counter part the O2 level decreases and thus the PH is getting back to normal by reducing its value.
