Do you think there is a causative relationship between the use of electronic screens and the overall general health of children, teenagers, and young adults today? What evidence would you use to support your arguments? min 150 words
According to a report by the Kaiser Foundation, it was shown that elementary aged children use on average 7.5 hours per day of entertainment technology. There is a causative relationship between the use of electronic screens and the overall general health of children, teenagers, and young adults today as according to research and experience kids who spend a lot of time using electronic screens get less time to do a physical activity such as going outside and playing in the open. Such kids eat lots of snacks while watching the electronic screens and they have disturbed sleep cycle. Sedentary bodies of the kids are bombarded with chaotic sensory stimulation that results in delays in the attainment of the child developmental milestones, with has led to the subsequent negative impact on basic foundation skills required for achieving literacy. Childhood obesity and diabetes are now national epidemics in both North American countries of Canada and the U.S., causally related to the overuse of the technology (Rown, 2017).
