Consider the changing role of women, the issues of race and slavery, and the idea of American identity. Discuss the varying perspectives that existed throughout this period. This is a piece on history of women in the united states.since 1776 and the colonies including the thirteen colonies before that. The study of women history has been a major scolarly and popular field with many scolarly books and articles, museum, exhibits, and courses in schools and universities. The roles of women were long ignored in textbook and popular histories, by the 1960s women are being presented more often. An early feminist approach underscored their victimization and their inferior status at the hands of men. In the 21st century writers have emphasized the distinctive strengths displayed inside the community of women with special concern for minorities among women. Throughout most history of women generally have had fewer legal rights and career opportunities than men. Wifehood and motherhood were regarded as most significant profession. In the 20 th centuary however women in the most nations won the right to vote and increased their educational and job oppurtunities. Women are now getting power even in rural areas. In many countries now women are the head of the State. Education has made women independant and theybare no longer dependent to men to lead their lives. Business laws has changed to allow more women in the workplace and giving them a comfortable environment to work in. The women rights emerged as an issue during the American revolution. Abigail adams warned her husband not to adopt the repressive code of common common law or the ladies were "bound to foment a rebellion". Still women lost legal ground with the formation of the united states after the American revolution.

Impacts of American revolution have on American women are,

Women participated boycotting British goods, producing goods for soldiers, spying on the British, and serving in the armed forces disguised as men. The war also affected the lives of women who remained loyal to the crown or those who remained politically neutral in many cases.the impact was devastating.

The revolution also unleashed powerful political, social and economic forces that would transform the post revolution politics and society including increased participation in politics and governance the legal institutionalization of religious toleration and the growth and the diffusion of the population.
