AIG scandal is involved by the American International Group, which is a Delaware Corporation engaged in broad range of insurance and insurance related activities in US and abroad through its subsidiaries. During the scandal, AIG falsified its financial statements through sham transactions and entities to misguide the investors and analysts about the financial status. The corporate offices involved in American International Group, Inc, scandal that were used for sham transactions include Gen Re which is a holding company for general reinsurance and related risk assessment, risk transfer and risk management operations located in Stamford, Connecticut. Another entity involved is Capco Reinsurance Company limited, a Barbados reinsurer which is a subsidiary of Western General Insurance Ltd until 2000 and liquidated in 2002. The third corporate office involved was Union Excess Reinsurance Company Ltd which is a Barbados reinsurer used by AIG for reinsuring certain insurance contracts entered into by AIG.
