Are there any circumstances in which you would allow yourself to be cloned? Why or why not
Every individual has specific identity as well as personality. Cloning will not affect either of these traits. Cloning means making an exact of copy of an individual this can be achieved through somatic cell nuclear transfer technology. It also has some ethical issues as well playing with nature. Cloning reduces genetic diversity within population and should not be carried in the long run, however if it would prove beneficial for path breaking medical discoveries its welcome step.
I want to clone myself so that a future me could live a life that I never was able to afford. I would raise him as a child, and teach him all that I know so that he can continue my life. Upon my death, he would receive all that I have accrued in life, and I would hope that he would continue investing where I already had. I would want my clone to live the life that I never got, to include having the father figure that I never had. He would know nearly everything about his future health and how to avoid any issues that I already have, and I would hope that he would clone himself, and raise himself, teaching the new clone everything that I have learned and he had learned. Eventually, an album would start, and it would show all of the things that we had done in past lives. Eventually, one of the later generations of clones would live the absolute dream life with perfect health as gene therapy and medicine culminate into a more advanced state, and he would live forever.
