In: Biology
Your goal for this assignment is to create a
wiki-style page in your Canvas Group space that highlights your
plant's basic biology and anatomy. Use your group discussion
forum this week to plan this page with your group
members.
Expectations for this assignment include:
1. at least one image (more is fine) that highlights what your
plant looks like (actual + anatomy)
2. a written description of your plant's anatomy, highlighting
the plant organ(s) of your plant that have been used by
human civilization, use terms learned in this class (in addition to
anatomical terms think about whether your plant is a angiosperm or
gymnosperm, a monocot or dicot etc).
3. information about the preferred climate and habitat of your
plant
4. a descriptive title and all authors (group members)
listed at the top
You should paraphrase everything in YOUR OWN WORDS and
footnote any images you include plus all written text that is not
common knowledge within your material. Your footnotes at the bottom
of the page should be properly referenced. Dr. Malcolm shared
some information to help with that, which you can access here,
plus you had practice with it in the Week 1 Discussion
forum.
The Tea plant is called Camellia Sinesis is a species
of evergreen shrub their leaf buds are used to produce tea.
Camellia Sinesis produces six main types of tea White tea, yellow
tea, green tea, oolong, pu-erh tea, and dark tea. Tea mainly comes
from Asia and India. Camellia Sinesis is made into tea through
oxidation for instance Green Tea, Black Tea, Oolong Tea. While
others go through more careful processes like Dark tea, White teas,
and Puer which are more delicate and have more complex method of
creation. All of these require extreme care to make because one
mistake can cause problems with taste. Camellia Sinesis likes
to grow in places where is warm and it requires a lot of
water.
