Imagine for a moment that you’re in charge of marketing smartphones to the rapidly growing market segment of very old consumers. What hurdles might you face and how could you surmount these hurdles?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The hurdles faced in marketing smartphones to old customers is to convince them about the features that it can offer in terms of convenience and functionality. It would also mean customizing the user interface and organizing training sessions for this customer demography to enable them to use the phone and get the maximum from the device.

It would also mean sensitizing this customer segment about the various applications that are available and which can be used to ease the daily transactions that one may encounter in conduct of routine chores. This may create demand based on ease of tarnbsactions that these applications offer.

Another thing is also ensuring that the smartphones are priced right to appeal to the older consumers. This might involve change in the procurement and manufacturing strategy as well as customizing and optimizing the product strategy to ensure non-essential features are removed and more relevant features are added to the product.
