• During this course, I learned many things. The one practice that has stood out throughout the whole course is training. Proper training is very important for running a successful hotel. One practice that I plan to use when I open my own café/B&B is to express all learning & professional development related policies and procedures and update them regularly. This is a big part of forecasting, by training yourself through old practices and procedures. Which will allow you to anticipate and evaluate new, better practices.

• The changes I foresee for the next 20 years would have to be a focus on making each experience truly personalized to the guest. I believe that hotels are going to begin tracking customer’s personal preferences and tweaking the rooms to suit the guests taste. In the next 50 year, I believe that everything will be changed. The room itself will probably be self-aware and be able to adjust to your liking on its own.
