Localization of function refers to the idea that functions can be attributed to specific regions of the brain. Whereas, distributed processing is the information processing in which computations are made across a series of processors or units, rather than being handled in a single, dedicated central processor.
Cognitive process for localization of function: Cognitive activity such as reading
Cognitive process for distributed processing: For example, when a person sees an object, they don't see just one thing, but rather many different aspects that together help the person identify the object as a whole.
