Answer is C) GFR.
GFR stands for glomerular filteration rate, and it determines the flow rate of fluid or filterate passing through the glomerulus per unit time. It helps is the assessment of renal function as how much blood kidneys can filter over per unit time. Normal range of GFR is 90-120 mL/min/ 1.73 m2.
More is the renal blood flow, more is the GFR.
As the GFR decreases, the kidney damage becomes more priminent and kidney failure occurs when GFR is below 15 ml/min/1.73 m2.
Blood urea nitrogen and blood creatinine are other test which also determine the function of kidneys.
Kidney has both parasympathetic and sympathetic innervation but they do not determine functions of the kidneys.
Kidney has another function of erythropoietin production which is essential for the red blood cell production, but evidence of decreased RBCs does not determine kidney function. It can be due to other causes such as genetic or nutritional deficiency etc.
