What does the urinary system do? Simple question, complex answer. As you are researching and answering this question, please be sure to note: The sequence of events that leads to excretion. What is the hormone ANH and what does it do? What are the two mechanisms by which kidneys help maintain blood pH? What are the normal components of urine? What substances commonly indicate a disorder in renal function? Finally, how does diabetes lead to renal failure?
Question no 1)
Urinary system main function is to concentration and excretion of fluid waste products from our body
Sequence of events leading to excretion
Kidney is the main orfan in the excretion of urine and the major steps are glomerular filtration, reabsorption and secretion. These steps are done to remove waste products from body and take back electrolyte and fluid that are required by our body.
The excretion process's is controlled by the nervous system and the detrusor muscek contract by the stimulus of parasympathetic nervous system which cause micturition process to take place .
ANH and it's function
It is the atrial natriuretic peptide which is made up of 28 amino acids polypeptide hormone . It is released by the heart nuscels when excess stretch of cardiac muscle occur .it's function is to Na2+ excretion and incre the Glomerular filtration rate . It also inhibit renin release
Mechanism by which BP is controlled
The two methods are by stimulating the renin- angiotensin - aldosterone system and by apressure natriuresis by which sodium is excreted by Pressure from kidney
