As the human resource director, you have been assigned to prepare a letter to be used to layoff a number of employees. The decision is based on the loss of a major contract. The top management believes the state of the economy overseas is the major reason for the cancellation. You have been told that if a new contract is signed the laid off employees will be rehired.

Dear employees;

It is informing you that few of you people are (mention the name list) being laid off from your duties from this month onwards. The bad economic conditions, lack of projects are the reasons for this layoff. This layoff starts from ending of this month, and if we get any bigger deals, and if we need additional manpower, we hire you, it is the promise the firm gives to you people.

It is informing you that your termination is not related or not depends on your job performance, contribution at the work or any thing else. we appreciate you to the contribution to the organization from the day of you joined and till today, I regreat you that the current financial problems of the firm required this notice.
