Thought on disaster plan
There is a major concern with collaborative efforts: Not everyone is as prepared or as invested as the rest. Is this an obstacle that can be overcome by designating a 'lead' hospital?
Disasters could of two types: the Natural disasters such as earthquake, hurricane, floods, etc. while other could be of Man-made like riots, war, fire, etc. Management in either case would involve to take care of ourselves for an indefinite period. In the modern era, expecting the unexpected disasters is the best way to keep oneself prepared to face the consequences in the best possible way. However, indeed if not all the Hospitals are prepared for the same, then it might become an obstacle. This could be overcome by designating a ‘Lead Hospital’ that shall help enable the other Hospitals to cope at the time of Disasters and ensure that the Patient’s life is primarily out of the risk arising out of the disaster such as that of the outbreak of Fire in the Hospital premises, etc.
The ‘Lead’ Hospital, in Disaster time, shall thereby help in reduction of the risk. Mitigation is hence an attempt made by the ‘Lead’ Hospital to alleviate the disaster risk that could have an impact either on people or on their property. It shall solicit the involvement of all other hospitals for preparedness. Moreover, the ‘Lead Hospital’ under Emergency planning and management, could also obtain Federal funds, in order to work on the mitigation phase even before there is an occurrence of such a disaster.
