Determine the mass of 6.74% NaF solution that contains 8.37 g of F-.

Determine the mass of 6.74% NaF solution that contains 8.37 g of F-.

Solutions

Expert Solution

no of moles of F^-    = W/G.A.Wt

                                  = 8.37/19   = 0.44 moles

1 mole of F^- present in 1 mole of NaF

0.44 moles of F^- present in 0.44 moles of NaF

mass of NaF = no of moles * gram mola rmass

                        = 0.44*42   = 18.48g

mass percent   = mass of solute*100/mass of solute + mass of solvent

6.74                 = 18.48*100/18.48 + mass of solvent

6.74*(18.48+mass of solvent ) = 18.48*100

mass of solvent = 255.7g

mass of solution   = 18.48+255.7    = 274.18g   >>>>answer
