Group of answer choices

Transport of a protein from the cytosol to the nucleus

Transport of a protein from the cytosol to the ER

Transport of a protein from the Golgi apparatus to the endosomes

Transport of a protein from the ER to the Golgi apparatus

All of the above

Solutions

Expert Solution

Transmembrane transport is defined as that type of cellular transport which involves transport of solute (Proteins) from one part of membrane (cytoplasm) to other cellular cavities like Transport of a protein from the cytosol to ER, Golgi apparatus and Golgi apparatus to the endosomes. However, the transport via nuclear pore complex (NPC) is called as nucelocytoplasmic transport and is not considered as transmemnbrane transport as nuclear membrane is not traversed and it is a bi-membrane system.

Therefore, based on the above information, the correct answers are :

  • Transport of a protein from the cytosol to the ER
  • Transport of a protein from the Golgi apparatus to the endosomes
  • Transport of a protein from the ER to the Golgi apparatus
