Short Answer

As we have been learning during the semester all microorganism are unique and may have the ability to increase its pathogenicity dependent on the environment. This week we were introduced to hydrolytic enzymes, list two enzymes (enzymatic activity of Casease, enzymatic activity of Gelatinase) and their function. Using your critical thinking, explain why it is of importance to identify microorganism that have hydrolytic abilities.

The two anzymes is (enzymatic activity of Casease, enzymatic activity of Gelatinase)

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer 1. Enzyme activity of Casease :-

Casease is an exoenzyme, that helps in hydrolysing casein. Casease when produced in organisms, breaks down the casein(protein of mammalian milk) into polypeptides, peptides and further to amino acids for its ease to cross the cell membrane for further use.

Answer 2. Enzyme activity of Gelatinase :-

It is a proteolytic enzyme that helps in hydrolysation of gelatin. Gelatin is a flavourless ingredient of food which is derived from collagen and is used to give gummy texture to food. This gelatin is crushed down into polypeptides, peptides and amino acids, for the ease to enter the cell membrane for further use.

Answer 3. Hydrolytic reactions are those in which the water molecules are used to break one or more chemical bonds. This hydrolytic ability is found in the microorganisms. It helps the microorganisms in digestion or by breaking complex proteins, carbs, etc into their simpler forms so as to cross the cell membrane for further energy processing.

what are real microorganism that may be of positive use or a microorganism that may have a positive impact on something else (a prokaryote, a eukaryote, an acellular agent) and focus on any aspect of the microorganism – for example structure(s) and/or function(s) – that may have any positive outcome, use, or impact. (1) that it must be within the natural capabilities of the microorganism and must be original.

It may be that sunshine has a unique effect on learning statistics. Previous research has been in disagreement, with some studies showing that sunshine increases amount learned whereas others show sunshine has detrimental effects on learning. You would like to determine for yourself whether or not sunshine makes a DIFFERENCE on statistics learning. During the semester, we talked a lot of impact of People, Process and Technology. All of the above come together to either help Enterprises thrive in business or vanish. One important point of intersection is the relationship between the Enterprise Structure and Culture. There is a general assumption that the Enterprise structure and Enterprise culture impact each other. In a domain of your choice, with examples, First, outline the mechanism through which Enterprise Culture impacts the design of Enterprise Structure,...

As we have been learning that a labor market is a market in which Households supply labor. People in the households allocate their time to work for pay or not to work (leisure time). The labor market supply curve slopes up because the number of people willing and able to work rises as the wage rate rises and because the number of hours that each person is willing and able to work rises as the wage rate rises, at least...

This week we have been learning about the methods archaeologists and paleontologists use to reconstruct the past. Now it’s time to get creative and apply this new knowledge to the present day. This is going to involve a little bit of research and creativity on your part. Pick a room in your house, apartment, dorm, or alternative domicile. If you walked out the door today and your room remained untouched for 100, 1,000 or 50,000 years, what would be left...

Up to this point, the data analysis procedures you have been learning about have all assumed a normal distribution of the population. However, there are times when the distribution of a population is not normal, at which time you will need to choose a different analysis strategy. What are two to three examples of populations that are not normally distributed?

ECO 226- Week 10  Assignment: The Lemon Market As we have been learning that a  lemons’  market is a market in which adverse selection occurs.   Adverse selection occurs when unobservable qualities are mis-valued because of a lack of information. This is often called a lemons market. How much is a consumer willing to pay for a used car that could be either a lemon or a plum? To determine a consumer’s willingness to pay in a mixed market with both lemons and plums, you...
