What is the difference between a paint and a coating?
2. What is a binder? What are the categories of coatings? What is a varnish?
What is a primer? What is a clearcoat?
3. How should paint be collected if it is fragile or fragmentargy?
4. What does a microtome do?
5. What is a problem with solubility testing of paints?
6. What types of instrumentation are routinely used to analyze paints?
7. What is a color system? Name two.

10. How would you go about finding out how many 2009 cares are registered to drivers?
1.) Coating is a covering that is applied to the surface of an
object [substrate]. Coatings are applied to improve surface
properties of the substrate, such as adhesion, appearance,
wet-ability, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and scratch
resistance. Coating may be applied as liquids, gases or
solids.
However, painting is the practice of applying paint, colour,
pigment, or other medium to a surface. Paintings may have surfaces
as walls, paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer, clay or concrete for
support.
2.) Binder: Binder is a substance which is used to make other substances, substrates or materials mix or stick together.
Different types of coating are:
Varnish: Varnish is a clear transparent hard protective finish or film. It can also be defined as resin dissolved in a liquid for applying on wood, metal, or other materials to form a hard, clear, shiny surface when dry.
Primer or undercoat: A primer/undercoat is a preparatory coating put on materials before painting. Primer/undercoat ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface. It increases paint durability.
