Did resting lactate differ by sex? Why might this be the case?
What do these values say about lactate production at rest?
What could explain a resting lactate value of >2.0 mM?
Question no 1)
No resting lactate value in bmodd is almost same in both. Men and women
Question no 2)
This is because sex of a person does not affect on the lactate level in blood. The anerobic glycolytic capacity is same for both sex .
Question no 3)
At rest the lactate values usual range from 1-2 mmol/ l and this increase by Exersice. There is even production of lactate at rest this is becaus when ever our body break down carbohydrates for energy. So our body even at rest breaks carbohydrates for its Proper function that indicates these values
Question no 4
when it is more than 2 while at least it indicates condition like hypoperfusion which occur in our body. This might be conditions like pulmonary edema , pulmonary congestion that will lead to reduced amount of oxygen for our body which will lead to anerobic respiratory of cells leading to increased levels of resting lactate. Also the left behind lactate are excreted from our body by liver and small amount by kidney. ,so some disease condition like liver cirrhosis and acute kidney injury occur then it can lead to accumulation of lactate there by increasing the resting lactate value more than 2
