Five stage of team development prescribed by Tuckman, involves tem forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. A team passing through these development stages, makes impact upon the characteristics of the effective teams and these characteristics are established in the team. The first impact is the clarity of the roles to be played by the each member of the team that becomes the characteristics of the team. For example, when a team goes through the forming stage, the ground rules are established and each member comes to know about their role. It starts building a solid foundation of the team. The second impact is the improved level of effective communication among the team members that is the characteristics of an effective team. It happens through the stage of storming where the team members communicate with each other and build team relationship. An effective team, interacts a lot that also solves the issues faced by the team. The third impact is development of higher level of engagement in the team. For example, when the effective team is created, then the engagement level among the team members is high. As a result the performance is delivered by the team. Here, the viewpoint of the each member is given due significance. The fourth impact is the analysis of the work being done by the team. It is an important part to bring improvement at work and take feedback. It happens as a part of adjourning that is the fifth stage of the team development stage. As a result, the team become more effective as they not only work successfully, but also they review their contributions and make corrective actions.
