How does automation harm and benefit humanity?
-----Demonstrate both sides of the ethical dilemma-----
Automation:
Automation of industries leads to the unemployment of many people. People will run out o jobs and cause inflation in the developing countries. Automation leads to development of industries and benefits only few operating personnel.
However, Automation also create jobs in the field of robotics, and manufacturing sector of robotic equipments. However, developing countries do not possess the technology to build automation systems and hence they will import it from other developed countries, which still doesnot help in creating jobs for the unemployed in the developing countries.
Benefits for humanity:
Automation increases accuracy, reduces errors, increase efficiency of the plant and hence increase the output of the plant.
Automation are not like humans whose working efficiency gets reduced by the end of the shift, automation works 24/7 with the same efficiency. Hence increased output and increased profits.
with automation, change in work can be done by simply changing the programming, whereas for a human, the new work need to be taught. Hence this reduces time and money overall.
