Hypertension
1. Define and describe the pathology fully.
ans:-
Hypertension:-Hypertension is also knwon as high blood prressure, it is a long trem medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated.
- For an adult , normal blood pressure is 120/80 in which systolic blood pressure is 120mmhg and diastolic blood pressure is 80mmhg.
But in case of hypertension these normal values of systolic and diastolic blood pressure remains high.
- In case of prehypertension systolic BP remains between 120-139mmhg and diastolic BP remains between 80-89mmhg.
- In stage 1 systolic BP remains between 140-159mmhg and diastolic BP remains between 90-99mmhg.
- In stage 2 systolic BP becomes equal to or greater than 160mmhg and diastolic BP becomes equal to or greater than 100mmhg.
- PATHOLOGY OF HYPERTENSION:-
In pathology of hypertension genetic and environmental factors plays an important role like stress, smoking, diet, age, obesity, alcohol, X- linked disorders, racial inheritance, family history etc.
Pathology of hypertension is shown in the following image with the help of flow chart:-
