Draft a message about the news described

Suppose you are an executive at a company that suddenly has to lay off 250 employees within three days or risk financial disaster. For months the company has been reassuring the employees that no one was going to be out of a job. You don’t want to appear impersonal or insensitive.

Expert Solution

Dear Colleagues,

First of all, I would like to thank you all for the efforts you all put in to make this company work. The company has achieved success because of your hard work over the years. I have also been fortunate to work with you all and the experience has been great.

It has come to my notice that the company is in a serious financial crisis and it is on the verge of a disaster. As a result, the company will have to make some harsh decisions in order to survive in the market and think of new rebuilding strategies. The top management of the company has decided to lay off 250 employees within the next few days and I know this will be very shocking for you. I really wish the company could avoid this but under the current circumstances, it is not a possibility. I am sure you all will understand the situation and cooperate with the company's decision. I can assure you that the company will consider you having you all back when we reach the financial stability in the coming months. But with the current cost-cutting strategy it is impossible for the management to pay for all the resources. So we are forced to take this decision.

Kindly let me know if you have questions and also if you need any help from us in getting a new job. Please feel free to write an email with the queries you have. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation. I wish you all the best.

Warm Regards,

ABCD
