Why is it that industries fail to create one consistent way to manage projects? Isn't better to standardize? please explain
The projects are created because the business needs it. The company gets business because of the customers and the market needs. The customer demands and the market needs keep changing so the company cannot create one common way to manage the projects. They need to be flexible enough to get adjusted to the needs of the customers and execute them meeting the needs of the business. Having a consistent way to manage the projects will reduce the ability to innovate and try new things. The steps followed in the project execution can be consistent but the requirements of the customers will not be same. So the various elements involved in those project management steps will vary a lot. These cannot be standardized and doing that will make the execution less effective and it will also affect the customer satisfaction. Most of the company make use of the agile methodology for project execution for the same reason. They will try to be open to changes and follow a flexible method to accommodate the changes required by the clients. The development of technology has also chnaged the way business is done these days. There are many softwares that can help the companies in managing their project management activities more efficienctly. The unique selling propositions of these softwares are also related to the flexibility and the ability to cover wide range of cusromer requirements. So it is always better to be on the same page with the customers wheile doing business. This will improve the communication during the project execution and also have a flexible approach to the project management.
