Six fundamentals that should be prioritized in transit station planning are:
(1)Safety: The pedestrian walkways and paths should be designed in such a way that they are not subjected to accidents from other vehicles.
(2)Security: The pedestrians should not be susceptible to robberies or any other crimes
(3)Directness: The path for walking should be very minimum and easily accessible
(4)Ease of entry: The entry for the pedestrians should be easy to reach and not too steep or inclined
(5) Comfort: The capacity and the quality should be well maintained, it should have protection from all kinds of weather like the sun, wind, and rain.
(6) Aesthetics: The walking environment should give a good feel to the eye to use public transport

Bus bay :
A bus turnout, bus pullout, bus bay, bus lay-by, or off-line bus stop is a designated spot on the side of a road where public transport will halt away from the traffic to pick up and drop off passengers. It is often indented into the sidewalk or other pedestrian areas so that it does not create an obstruction to free flow traffic
