Expert Solution

Question 1) What are your attitudes towards e-cigarette and what could be done, from a marketing perspective to change those attitudes?

Answer 1) Well e cigarette is a completely new technology where the old way of consuming cigarette is completely changed with the help of e cigarette and whenever a new technology comes into the market it takes time for customer to adapt it and in such situation it may take years because it depend upon individual preference that he/she will like e cigarette or not whether he/she will find the same value and satisfaction in consuming e cigarette or not. There are so many questions to ponder whereas talking about e cigarette attitude is as of now not that much acceptable because people are not accepting e cigarette as a way to replace with normal cigarette due to individual preferences this is what I feel.

From marketing prospective few changes can be made in the positioning strategy of e cigarette where the new positioning strategy should be like something useful for the customers and totally different from that of normal cigarette, few benefits can be shown to customer so that they get more attracted towards it. Few things that can be done to attract customers towards e cigarette are:

1) Show people in Hollywood movies consuming e cigarette rather than normal cigarette

2) E cigarette companies should hire famous people as their brand ambassadors so that people follow their fan and start consuming e cigarette

3) Benefits of e cigarette over normal cigarette should be told to customers

4) E cigarette saves paper cost and is helpful from future prospective all these social benefits must be told to customers.

5) E cigarette have better shell life and have many benefits that customers can consume them as per their taste and mood.

All these benefits must be told to customers in order to change their attitude towards e cigarette
