Gathering data useful in design assessment may be obtained in several ways. Identify two of these and discuss their implications to the design process :

Surveys and interviews are two of the easiest ways to capture the concept data. While gathering data , the researcher should gather specific experiences and observations that are relevant to the design process, as it is the quality of the knowledge produced regarding the efficacy, operation, and wellbeing of the company that makes it a good way to collect data. It also helps the person conducting the interview get a better understanding of the issues raised that would help him / her interpret the organizational members' responses in sufficient detail. Additionally, the collected data can be used to broaden the knowledge of the problem and in turn help to intervene or explain to the client why there is a problem.

The collection of data can reveal what systems are working, and what needs to be changed to improve the business. That is because individuals are expected to answer questions during the data collection process , which helps the company participants think more critically about the problems they face and concerns inside the organisation because, for example, in surveys, the primary goal is not just to collect information, but rather to help gather data that can better resolve the findings. This may stimulate interest in change , particularly when a issue is found and recommendations are raised with one or more of them being used to make improvements within the design. Finally, the practitioner is always in a position to forge relationships when conducting surveys and/or interviews and to repair those that are broken between members and the organization by developing cooperative and trusting relationships by focusing on their individual perspectives. The change which would result from the above would have a positive impact on the design process.

For Example, the NGSS ( Next Generation Science Standards ) incorporate movements for the grouping of learning, execution desires for every one of the center thoughts tended to at a given evaluation level or evaluation band, and a depiction of assessable parts of the three measurements tended to in the arrangement of execution desires for that point. The presentation desires, specifically, give an establishment to the improvement of evaluation errands that fittingly coordinate substance and practice. The NGSS execution desires likewise for the most part incorporate limit articulations that distinguish cutoff points to the degree of comprehension or setting suitable for an evaluation level and explanation proclamations that offer extra detail and models. In any case, gauges and execution desires, even as elucidated in the NGSS, don't give the sort of nitty gritty data that is expected to make an evaluation.

Another example : In the plan of appraisal things and errands identified with the NGSS execution desires, one needs to consider the sorts of reasonable models and proof that are anticipated from understudies; grade-level-fitting settings for surveying the exhibition desires; basic and discretionary undertaking configuration highlights (e.g., PC based reproductions, PC based movements, paper-pencil composing and drawing) for inspiring understudies' thoughts regarding the presentation desire; and the kinds of proof that will uncover levels of understudies' understandings and abilities.
