Describe how natural selection is the process of evolution.
Evolution is the gradual changes in genetic material of an organism. Natural selection is a process through which evolution occurs. Steps of natural selection through which evolution occur are as follows:
Overproduction: every species has tendency to shoot up. But all offspring will survive or not depends on the carrying capacity of habitat. Intraspecific and interspeific compettition within a habitat often arise.
Variation: All individuals are made up of different genetic make up. Some individuals of a species exhibit variation in appearance and behaviour from rest members.
Survival of the fittest: individuals possesing advanced trait will be more suitable for struggle in environment so high rate of differential survival and differential reproduction gradually seperates them from other members. Thus evolution occurs as it changes the allele frequency of a population shifting it to a particular direction.
