Amish are a group of Christian church fellowship. Amish are known for simple living. The membership of Amish church begins with baptism between the age of 16 and 23.Rumspringa refers as adenosines to Amish people which beginning at about age 16.durting these period Amish children enjoys greater freedom. Amish teens are no longer under the control of their parents and church since they are not baptized. During Rumspringa Amish youth enter a time of great social activity such us conducting parties, dating etc. Amish youth group vary with community to community. The Amish period ends with baptism. Participating in certain social activities or using some technologies are stopped to Amish teens with baptism.
Amish teenagers live a simple life. They are given a period of time to have new experiences and to decide whether to follow Amish beliefs or not. If we consider general trends of teenagers, most of them are controlled by their parents. As time passes parents loose the control and they become independent. They have every right to do what they really wanted. Due to over controlled teenage adults may misuse the freedom.
Amish teens have all freedom to experience their lives. Everyone learns from their lives. Without learning a teenager cannot be an independent adult. Conflicts over control of teen’s life are the root cause of problems between parent and teens. In my teenage I used to argue with my parents for difference of opinion. Parents should provide freedom in a balanced way. At teenage they have to monitor the children rather than controlling them. Freedom helps teens to feel confident and self-responsible. They learn to take their own responsibility.
