The five most well-known search engines are:

  1. Google,
  2. Yahoo,
  3. Baidu,
  4. Bing,
  5. Ask

Each search engines works in its own way and carries a different way of presenting the information. Each one targets domestic and global markets differently. For example, Google and Yahoo are the Global search engine but in each country they operates differently allowing user to get a mix of local and global content for making informed decision making. The searches are also filtered on the basis of the availability of the content in the region with facility to provide the content in the local language. Similarly, Ask is based on the question answer based scenarios allowing its user to ask questions and then it provides answers based on the data base it created. Another search engine Bing (Microsoft) seeks to integrate the windows component with the search engine. For example windows assistance Cortona uses it to provide a wide variety of services to users such as playing news, reading books and stories, providing information and allowing user to stay updated by integrating voice and textual information. It seems more trustworthy as Microsoft hold a higher degree of credibility when it comes to data storage and providing information. Baidu is another important search engine but is mostly limited to Chinese region. It is owned and operated by Chinese multinational and is basically combines the search engine with artificial intelligence. The search engine is also restricted to provide information only that doesnot violates the China’s integrity.
