Expert Solution

Internet of Things refers to many physical devices connected to the internet across the world. They share data. Reasons why the solutions are hard to govern are

1. Security:

IoT devices lack the necessity of encrypting the sensitive information. It’s flawed in this sector as there may always be a risk. This has higher risks of cyber attacks and the hackers could easily hack into these devices. The behavior of the devices can be changed. This is the biggest concern and is a security hole.

2. Technology:

There’s a lack of good designing and authentication. There’s no proper response activities to the iot incidents occurring. And it’s often called immature technology. Such technological improvements are necessary and currently lack of these makes it hard to govern.

3. Connectivity:

There are billions of IoT devices in the network already and it keeps growing everyday. For the connections to be intact there must be a better system to handle all the devices which would also cost a lot. If there’s a failure in any kind of device, there will be a loss as that particular system would fail.

4. Privacy:

It’s hard to handle to privacy concerns people facing in this field. As data can easily be accessed and the sensitive information can be compromised.

5. Compatibility:

Different technologies are used which makes it difficult for the compatibility to remain for the older devices. It requires all the devices to remain updated which is a difficult task. When they run on different softwares, more security issues are to be found.
