Explain the 5 criteria of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in selecting a WHS.
WHS stands for World Heritage Site, which is a legal protection area guided by the UNESCO. A world heritage site must contain a geographically stable area in a selection process, which fulfills the significance of physical and cultural things. The criteria's are:
1) Representation of the human creativity:
This point states that the human creativity plays a vital role in getting selected by the UNESCO. If it fulfills the requirements of them, then it will successfully be part of it.
2) Fulfill ecological and biological needs:
This point states that it should fulfill the ecological and biological needs, which are crucial factors. Protection of the environment is essential, and as a human, we must protect them.
3) Natural beauty:
This point states that the place should contain natural beauty, which will attract the human. It should also have cultural related things, which will make that place looks incredible.
4) Development:
This point states that the time is changing, and the development is necessary with the time change. We have seen a sudden development in technology, architecture, and monuments, making that place look more attractive.
5) Innovative:
This point states that the land or area should be innovative enough to attract the human being because it should contain the beauty of nature and cultural activities.
