Report writers are those who collect the information and data from various sources about a particular topic and provide them in a specified format. Report writers use various types of graphics like tables, pie charts, flow charts, pie diagrams, maps, photographs, etc in their reports to present it in best way possible.

Report Writers determine the type of graphics to be included in report in below mentioned ways:–

  1. Firstly they determine the purpose for which graphic is to be used.
  2. Secondly they check all the available graphics that can be used for that purpose. They check which graphic can present the desired information in best way.
  3. Then finally they choose the graph which most suitably matches with their purpose.

Yes, I would use graphics in my report.

Graphics used in the reports enhances the report in below mentioned ways –

  • In case if numeric data is to be shown then just presenting it in paragraph form will not make good impact. Graphics like tables, charts, graphs, etc can represents exact values and numbers.
  • In case if any sequence of steps is to be shown, graphics like flow chart will highlight those steps.
  • If any comparison or difference is to be shown graphics can be used to clearly mention them in most understandable form.
  • If writer wants the attention of reader at particular important thing, graphics helps them to do so.

So, graphics make the report easy to understand as it highlights the important aspects.

Q. In this question, you will do some resampling and show results in graphics. This is related to bootstrap technique. The population distribution is a normal with µ = 10 and σ^2 = 4. The statistic is the sample mean. Hence in theory we know exactly what the density function of the sample mean is. (a) Simulate a sample, say x, with sample size n=100. Report its mean, sd, min, and max. (b) Use R functions sample and replicate to...
