A system can be defined as the combination of various elements or parts which are augmented in order to accomplish the common objective or goals. Systematic thinking can be treated as a manner by which the entire system can be monitored with the help of observing the various inputs which are to be processed or transformed in order to facilitate a certain output and at the same time receiving the continuous feedback on every part of the system.
Feedback can be seen as that part of the information which is being received at the original transmitter (which could be input, transformer or output.) and it has the capability of changing the transformers’ actions. These feedbacks are quite helpful in ensuring the stability of the system.
Management information system is a business function such as marketing, human resource, accounting and so on which has the prime function of transferring the relevant information related to the product, employees, human resources and processes in the entire organization in order to ensure the informed decision making by the managers and to find out the most suitable solution for the various issues and problems. In order to obtain cross functionality by the business organizations, management information system utilizes the concept of system thinking. For example, to fulfil the orders of products a certain MIS which is directed to the sales has the capability of moving the single customer order in the different functional areas of the organization such as sales and marketing, order fulfilment, shipping and transportation and the after sales customer services.
Despite having various functional areas which manage the different part of sales operations, with the help of Management Information System, the sales are treated as a comprehensive process by the customer. Thus the MIS is quite helpful for the organizations to have better customer satisfaction and an efficient coordination among the various departments.
