When someone is trying to lose weight, the approach that generally has the best outcome in the long-term is slow, moderate weight loss with an emphasis on forming new habits for life and making small changes that are manageable and tolerable, such as eating a salad before each meal and adding 10 minutes of exercise each day as a starting point. Extreme diets which restrict or cut out whole food groups (low carb diets, low fat diets) can produce fast results but people on these diets tend to gain the weight back over time.

Solutions

Expert Solution

* The long-term approach to lose weight is slow and sometimes won't show any results and it is not applicable to all people. Some people with more weight or people suffering with obesity should not get effective results with this process as more work is needed inorder to burn calories. One has to lose weight either by maintaining diet or doing exercise.

* The moderate process of losing weight includes taking low calorie diet and doing exercise for 10 mins daily has better effect to lose weight compared to long-term process. It will take some time inorder to see results as limited efforts are kept by the individuals. This may not work with obese people and only effective for normal people who want to keep their body fit.

* Extreme diets( low fat and low calories) food intake should be totally stopped and exercises sholud be done daily which helps to lose weight quickly and it is effective for people suffering with weight problems. This should be done continously(daily basis) as quitting this procedure may results in weight gain back over a time.
