Some viruses have different spike protein. Explain what happened to the gene which affected the protein that is produced based on transcription and translation.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer:

There are many viruses which have different spike protein based on ranges of amino acid 1,160 amino acid (IBV-Infectious bronchitis virus) to 1400 amino acid. ( feline coronavirus). The coronavirus has a spike fusion protein.

In their alpha-helical structure, there are S1 Subunit and S2 Subunit. Both used as receptors to bind Sugar and proteins. It is a Parasite; so it heavily depends upon host cell structure for their life cycle. The mRNA translation includes four steps. The name is mentioned followings

1. Initiation: In the initial stage, mRNA is recognized and assembly of 80S complex. Later tRNA binds at the peptidyl site of the mRNA.

2.Elongation: In this steps, tRNA enters the acceptor A site and ribosome catalyze the formation of a peptide bond.in the next step of elongation tRNA and mRNA are translocated, and codon is moved into A site.

3. Termination: In this process, a stop codon has occurred, the translation process is terminated. And peptide from the ribosome.

4. Recycling: It involves dissociation of the ribosome and the release of mRNA and deacylated tRNA. And another round of translation starts.
