The US Department of Agriculture tells farmers that a certain kind of fruit tree will on
average produce 6 bushels of fruit each year. However, Farmer Smith believes that 6 bushels per tree is not
the actual average. Smith obtained data on a sample of 220 trees, and in that sample, the mean production
of fruit was 6.33 bushels, with a standard deviation of 2.81.
